Things to Consider
Choose a reputable dress maker, preferably a specialist in making wedding dresses or someone that has been recommended.
Look at the portfolio of the dresses made, ask for references. The best way to know if he/she is capable is speak to someone she has made a dress for, you may even get to look at the dress and check the quality etc. The dressmaker should have sample dresses that you can look at for finishing and detailing if you need to.
Get a written confirmation of the fitting dates and confirmation when the dress will be finished. Always ask the dress to be finished a couple of weeks before the wedding to allow for any hiccups the dressmaker may have. You may need some final adjustments a couple of days before your wedding, stress may have caused you to loose weight or eating too much the dress may need to be let out a bit. So always make an appointment, you may not need to use it.
Are you having the bridesmaids dresses made by the same person, you will have to schedule fittings etc.
