Your dress has to fit properly otherwise it will not be comfortable.
How formal is your wedding going to be. So you can choose a style that fits in with the style of wedding you want. But if you are having a small informal wedding does not mean you cannot wear a full length traditional wedding dress if you want to. Its your day wear what you want.
A fitted dress should be well tailored and fit snugly and be not too tight.
The waistline should be at the right place, it will awkward if it is too high and will cease around the middle if too low.
The arms should not be too tight either, especially under the arm. Your arms should be able to move freely.
The dress should hang perfectly and move with you, the dress should not look like it is being dragged around.
Remember to look at the back view that is what your guests are going to see at the ceremony, so make sure it is perfect.
Get recommendation of dress shops to visit, dressmakers etc.
Choose the colour you want, are you going to be wearing are you going to wear white, ivory, cream or colour.
Pure white usually suits the darker complexion
Ivory usually suits an English rose.
The weather is important, and very unpredictable, you may just like to keep a wrap in case you may need one especially for winter, spring and autumn weddings.
The dress should be comfortable for walking, dancing and eating.
