Sri Lanka offers the beaches and the culture, you spend a few days relaxing on the beach and then experience the religion and history by doing some sight seeing. High season may cause beach erosion.
Cuisine Traditional food is rice and curry. Local specialties are, "hoppers" - small pancakes, "pittu" - flour and grated coconut steamed in bamboo, "lamprori" - rice boiled in meat stock with vegetables and meat baked in banana leaf. Beer or local drink "arrack" local drink made from coconut sap.
Weather Warm all year round, it can rain any time of the year, however it rains more during April to June and from October to November.
