Wedding Sari
The wedding
sari is made of silk material and usually embodied with gold or silver
thread. The sari is usually red or white or a combination of both,
it can also have a little green. The sari is usually very heavy because
of the embroidery. |
Lehanga
A Lehanga consists of a skirt and top,
the skirt is secured at the waist and leaves the back and midriff bare. The top can be short or long depending
on what you choose.
The Lehanga
is another piece of Indian clothing which is often worn. Brides that
are not used to wearing a sari find it difficult to walk and therefore
a lehanga is a compromise. |
Wedding Outfit Tips
It is a good idea to get a second lighter chunni
made to match your lehenga, so your wedding outfit can be worn again at a family wedding.
Alternatively, you could get a simple lehenga made and wear
your wedding chunni with it.
A simple outfit worn with heavy jewellery could be equally stunning.
Choose what you like - the important thing is that you
are comfortable on the day.
Don't shop for your wedding outfit too early, trends change
every season and you don't want to look like last seasons bride. However if you want something special
and tailor-made you will be required to place your order a little earlier
then buying off-the-shelf.
Take someone
that you trust and are close to who will give you an honest opinion
on what the outfit looks like on you. |
If you are having a made-to-measure outfit then make sure you get
everything in writing and especially the date the outfit will be ready by, always ask for your outfit to be ready
at least 2-3 weeks before the wedding, incase of any lastminute emergencies.
If you are buying
off-the-peg, if the outfit needs altering is their a separate charge
and how long will the alterations take. |
