Bring the sari
around the right side of your body in a smooth neat wrap.

Holding the
sari firmly, start pleating it with your fingers keeping the pleats
even and straight. |

Gather about
1 yard of sari into the pleats. The rest is wrapped around the body
once more and draped over the shoulder. |
|

Pleating takes
both hands, with the right hand holding the pleats and the left guiding
the sari between the forefinger at one edge and thumb and pinkie at
the other edge. |
|
After gathering enough pleats,
arrange them one behind the other and tuck them firmly in the band of the underskirt.

Pull the rest
of the sari around the back and to the front from the right side and
drape over the left shoulder. |
|
You can wear
the sari draped loosely over the right shoulder so the pallau is at
the back, or you can wear it so the pallua is at the front.
|
|
|
To keep the
sari on place, you can pleat the pallau and pin it at the left shoulder.
