Your Engagement Announcement will usually be done by your parents, but
if you need to do it yourself here are a few tips.

Tell both sets of parents first if they do not already know.
It is traditional for the bride's parents to hear the news first as they were expected to
pay for all of the wedding, but it is usually a good idea to break the news to both sets of parents together.

You can break the big news by having a party shortly after the engagement.
|

|
Tell close family and friends in person, or by telephone. This will make
them feel like they are still important.

|
Try and tell other members of your family the same time, so individuals do
not feel left out.

If you want to tell everyone, you can announce your engagement in a local
or national paper.
