Constructing the Guest List
Make a list of everyone you would like
to attend, if they have young children, then you should assume the children will also attend
Next to each name, write down the total number of guests
that you expect to turn up with that person, or couple.
Once, you have completed your list, total the number of guests.
If this number is greater than the number you can invite, then start going through the list removing the least important until you have reached
the required number.
If there are people you would like to invite, but cannot, create another list and go through this list when the people you have invited
have declined the invitation.
Use you invitation list to keep track of replies, mark down whether they have accepted, or declined, if someone has failed to reply within a reasonable
timescale, chase them up with a polite phone call explaining you need to know their response before you can place your catering order.
If you ask everyone
to RSVP early, then the people who receive the second batch of invitations
probably will not realize they have been invited because someone else
have declined. |
