You should decorate the reception appropriately, choose a style to suit the formality of the occasion.
Elaborate floral arrangements on all tables will look nice for a big wedding. Subtle floral arrangements would be more suitable for a less formal affair.
Your wedding colour scheme should be followed through to the arrangements.
The top table is usually decorated more elaborately than the other tables, do not go wild with decorating the top table, you don't want to block the view of the bride and groom and other guests.
Floral arrangements on other tables is not essential.
Some brides like to put a single flower for each female guest, this can look nice and may not require any main arrangement.
