Choosing Flowers
Choose flowers
that will enhance the mood you want to create and suit the surroundings.
The most important starting point is the brides dress.
Order all the
flowers you require at the same time. This will mean your bouquet,
bridesmaids bouquets, headdresses, buttonholes and corsages will also
coordinate. |
You may also need flowers to decorate the bridal car.
The season is important.
If you want a lot of flowers there's no so point in getting married at a time of year when there's no blooms around.
The time of year which is quit cheap is spring when you can have masses of spring bulbs, flowers and blossom.
If you get marred in the winter and you want a huge effect with flowers
you will have to spend money as there simply aren't enough flowers around.
Flowers in season will be the best quality and value.
Decide what flowers you need, buttonholes, bouquet, church, reception etc.
Once you have a rough idea of what you want, go to a florist
and ask them to show you what different combinations will look like.
What style, this will depend on the type of wedding
you are having whether formal or informal.
Look at bridal magazines, visit florists to get ideas
of the different types, colours and styles of flowers available to you.
Make a note of the type of flowers you like, the colours and type of arrangements.
Do you prefer simple or large elaborate arrangements.
