Tips
What time of the day is your wedding. If it is a morning one you may just choose to serve a light buffet meal. If it is an evening one you will probably choose to serve a sit down meal, the choice is yours.
Summer wedding means you may serve lots of salads and cold meats and lighter food. A winter wedding means you probably want to serve warming food.
Do you want a sit-down meal or buffet.
Make sure the food looks interesting with colour, the food is one of the major things people will remember the wedding by.
Make sure you know dietary requirements of guests, are there any vegetarians.
Get a caterer that has been recommended, have you been to a wedding where you like the food, ask them who the caters were.
Ask for references.
Confirm all agreements in writing, including deposit when is it required and when is the final payment due and how much.
Find two caterers you like and get quotes, then see which one is offering best value and quality of food for the money. Do not go for the cheapest if the quality of food is not going to be good. Choose the one that best suits your wedding style.
