If you decide to self-cater then you are likely to serve a buffet this is much easier. You can not serve and prepare a sit-down meal.
It may be only practical to serve cold food.
When deciding on a menu, choose foods that can be prepared in advance and kept in the fridge or freezed.
Do not leave anything that has to be done on the day of your wedding, you and your wedding party will be too busy getting ready.
Nowadays you can get party foods from the supermarket have a look around and see if you can buy some of the food.
Do your shopping in plenty of time, do it early as possible so that the food won't go off but you will not have to rush around the day before your wedding when you should be relaxing and pampering yourself.
Get plenty of help.
Arrange for people to organize the food on the day of the wedding.
Make sure you have enough food for everyone, it is best to have a little left over then not enough food.
You will have to make arrangements for tables, so make sure you have enough space for the food and for your guests to sit somewhere.
Keep food hygiene in mind you do not want to give your guest food poisoning.
You will probably need to hire cutlery, table linen, crockery and baking equipment if you do not have anything large enough. You may decide to use paper plates and plastic cutlery.
