Halls can vary tremendously, you can get halls which can look chilly, badly decorated and dirty. You will have to go and look at the hall carefully it is best to go during the day and night so you get a proper feel for the hall.
You will be responsible for decorating the hall yourself.
You will need to access the hall the night before or early morning so you can decorate it.
Does the hall have tables and chairs, if not you will have to hire some.
Does the hall have a kitchen, where food can be warmed up if need to be. Does it have washing facilities.
Your caterer will have to bring serving equipment, some caterers have their own warming up equipment. So speak to the caterer to find out what they have.
If you are not having caterers then you will have to arrange to hire or buy serving, plates, cutlery for the meal.
Drinks will need to be arranged
Is there enough room for dancing.
Is there room for a band or DJ to set up if you are having one. Will the sound be ok. Speak to the band or DJ beforehand about the hall. A small hall with loud music can echo badly.
If you want to change your clothes is there somewhere you can.
